Decoding the Explosive placards -

The letters that you see 'A, F, and C' are used to determine compatability of one explosive to another.  The letters on the placard could really be any any of the following:

A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, L, N, S

The 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 are the hazard class and the division. The 1 at the bottom of the placard is just the hazard class.
